Tia Gordon is the voice that you need to know about. We were lucky enough to have Tia perform at our first ever print launch back in 2022, and since then she has become part of the heart and soul of the UK music industry. Her presence in the scene has been palpable. Alongside her long running praise of her fellow emerging artists, her buttery vocals and lyrics that play on the beautiful moments in life, Tia’s name is continuing to grow every day.

As the crowds gathered at Servants Jazz Quarter last night for Tia’s first headline show, it was clearer than ever that she has established herself as a strong name within the industry. While she sold out the space soon after announcing, Tia’s confident but humble demeanour has remained through her excited social media posts over the past month.

To open the night emerging artist Izzy Withers took to the stage. Her crisp voice carried around the space, inviting the crowd to sway in her serene aura. Her calming sound was the perfect way to enter the evening.

Tia’s presence ignited an instant joy within the crowd. The ease with which Tia sings is one of her most unique qualities. While this was her first headline show, there was no indication of this whatsoever. The room, adorned with Jamaican flag bunting, fell silent at the start of each of her songs, but everyone built to a roar of cheers as she brought each one to an end.

Throughout the hour long set Tia introduced her 4 piece band and brought to the stage fellow artist and close friends Mom Tudie to play alongside her. The pair have been making music together for years now and continue to call back to each other in a lot of their live sets. Interspersed between the songs from her latest EP ‘with love.x’, which has just hit a million streams, Tia included an unreleased track co-written with Sophie Faith. As well as a cover of ‘Dream A Little Dream Of Me’, which saw the whole room harmonise alongside her. ‘Good Enough‘ and ‘suitcase of memories‘ were clear crowd favourites as grinning fans sang along and cheered as Tia smoothly serenaded us.

Brought back to the mic by a resounding choruses of encore chants from the crowd, Tia and her band wrapped up what was an amazing first headline gig. It’s sure to be one of many to come.
